Events
The outpouring of community support led to new benefit events such as the Hickey Huckle Tournament, and new receptions for patrons and community members. Every event was created to build support and excitement for the competition and its competitors. Events like the Gala Winners' Concert and reception dinners aimed to celebrate the competitors, honor committee members, and thank patrons for their support.
Throughout the years local television stations teamed up with the campus station to film documentaries for the competition and subsequent Carnegie Hall performances. These documentaries also received watch parties with reception dinners.
Receptions and TV Celebrations
1992 Afternoon Tea Invitation
An invitation card sent out to patrons inviting them to afternoon tea featuring a performance by Martin Berkofsky. Contains the date and time along with a list of committee members and volunteers involved.
1998 Julio León Dinner Invitation
Dinner invite from President León inviting people to a dinner in the “House of Lords” to honor judges, board members and the planning committee.
2002 "Prelude Party" Card
Card for a “Prelude Party at the home of Dr. & Mrs. Trey Butler” to honor those who helped put the competition on.
