Spiva Center for the Arts: Spiva Gallery and Missouri Southern

Spiva Center for the Arts and Missouri Southern State University (formerly Missouri Southern State College) had a strong relationship. Once residing on campus, the gallery worked with the faculty and students of MSSU often organizing senior shows and inviting faculty to share their artwork or their knowledge by inviting them to provide lectures. Here you will find an exhibition booklet, mailing advertisements, a newspaper clipping, and a blank application for an alumni exhibition.

“Directions: Fabric and Fibers” was held September 26th to October 24th, 1982 and featured Layne Goldsmith, Margaret Roach Wheeler, Billi R. S. Rothove, D. Ryan Johnson, Hylarie McMahon, and Jane Sauer.

“Alumni Exhibit: Celebrating 50 Years” was held August 16th to September 6th, 1987, and featured graduating artists from MSSC.
