This 1961 flyer promoting the Woman's Christian Temperance Union (WCTU) serves as a glimpse into what the goals of the WCTU were. The flyer lists 10 reasons people might have to not join the union and lists ways those reasons can be overcome.
The flyer also contains the WCTU pledge:
I hereby solemnly promise, God helping me, to abstain from all distilled, fermented, and malt liquors, including beer, wine, and cider, and to employ all proper means to discourage the use of and traffic in the same.
