Forbey received many letters from various friends and family members throughout his time in the Navy. While most of this collection of letters are letters from Forbey during his time in the U.S. Navy, there are a few Forbey received from friends and family.

Hello Fum,

 I finally got your address. Boy I sure would like to see you. I see that you are a 3 class sound man. I will be 1st class Bugler in 4 weeks. I’m graduating in 4 weeks and I sure will be glad and will go and with the Pacific fleet. And I sure am waiting for that day. I have Dottie here with me. She is staying with Jean Melford. We sure do have a lot of fun.

Leslie is in the South Seas now. He sure does move

Betty Sue Davis and Bubby Gussel are married don’t say anything about it. And I got a letter from Curtis today and he said she is true to him. He said at least her letters sound that way. If he only knew she was married. Dottie address is 1717 S. Pacific Ave. San Pedro Calif. Mine’s on the envelope.

Well kid I sure will be glad to get out there with you.

All the boys from Charleston are here in San Diego.
