Wedding Dress
During WWII, a shortage of materials left brides to be without access to wedding dresses. The GFWC along with the ABBC Coterie worked to ship wedding dresses for women to rent in England. The bride would pay 10 shillings for the rental, and the dress could be cleaned and prepped for shipping. This program started by the GFWC allowed brides in England to wear a traditional white gown on their wedding day during a time when materials were low.
