Student Worker Training: LibStaffer

Guide for training of Library student workers

Rather than contacting your direct supervisor with schedule changes or time-off requests via e-mail or phone, staff members will be encouraged to work together and funnel all time-off requests into the dedicated management area in Libstaffer. Your direct supervisor can then approve or deny request in one central location.

Libstaffer gives you several ways to view and manage your assigned shifts. In Libstaffer, you have the ability to: view, swap, give up, and claim shifts.

Why do we need LibStaffer?

LibStaffer is all about saving time and being more efficient. With LibStaffer, Librarians and staff members can organize multiple schedules in one place, prevent staff double-bookings, prevent staff from working over their maximum hours, monitor time-off requests, and communicate with staff members with built in email functions.

Libstaffer allows all staff to know who is where and when as we provide a unique service to the campus community as one of the few departments that open and close our own buildings. With this, we need to provide adequate and proper coverage both in the mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Libstaffer allows all to efficiently manage our time and have the opportunity to do outside activities when we want to without Spiva Library being affected in a negative way.

LibStaffer Features

Note: When a Staff Member is absent from their normally scheduled shift, they can use vacation, sick, or bereavement pay whenever applicable. Your direct supervisor, as well as the Library Director and/or Assistant Library Director can answer any and all questions related to leave balances.
