ebrary: Preview Titles for Purchase

Your guide to ebrary - how to access ebooks, search, highlight and take notes within an ebook, add an ebook to your ebrary bookshelf, cite ebrary books, and share ebooks with persistent links

Recommend ebrary Titles for Purchase

Departments who wish to use their allocation funds to purchase ebooks or other materials from the vendor ebrary have an account that can be used to recommend items for purchase.  The account name and password will be supplied to the department’s library liaison and department head.

1. Go to: https://partners.ebrary.com/

2. Enter department Username & Password (if forgotten or not known contact your department head or library liaison)

3. After supplying the correct Username and Password the screen displayed below will appear.

There is a link to a training video located on this screen.  We recommend that you watch the video before using the system for the first time.

4. Click on the link “Search & Recommend Titles” to search for materials to recommend and to view or edit the list of recommended items.

You can do either a simple or advanced search for materials.  Advanced searching offers more options to limit search results.

Search results will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.  If you see a book that you want to recommend for purchase, select the pricing option (SUPO or MUPO).  Multiple User (MUPO) allows an unlimited number of users to utilize the same book simultaneously.  Single User (SUPO) is more restrictive, thus the lower price.  Some books are only available as single user, but according to ebrary the books will be limited use only when the system detects that the book is in use.  Multiple users can add the book to their bookshelf, but they might have to wait to access it.

Purchasing

Once the department has decided which books to recommend they should notify the library’s secretary (Ann Quade quade-a@mssu.edu ; 417-625-9386).  Ann oversees the library’s ordering and can access the list of recommended titles.
