Faculty Services @ Spiva Library

A guide explaining information literacy across the curriculum and the role the library plays in helping students learn how to acquire, manage, analyze, evaluate and use information effectively and ethically to be successful in their careers and life.

Add Library Resources to your Blackboard Course Site

The library has a rich array of electronic resources that can be included in BlackBoard courses, including customized LibGuides, links to articles, databases, ebooks, etc. This portion of the guide provides information on how instructors can add Spiva Library subscription content to Blackboard.

To point your students directly to an article in a subscription database, an ebook or other electronic resources that are not freely available online, you CANNOT simply copy and paste the URL from your browser while you are viewing the resource. This URL is rarely stable. You should always look for the persistent URLs (a.k.a. stable URLs, permanent URLs, or durable URLs) provided by the database or ebook vendor. This is extremely important when linking in Blackboard, since many students will be trying to access subscription information from off-campus and links need to be integrated within our proxy server.

Use the links below or those under the, Library Resource Links in BlackBoard, tab above to locate persistent URLs for that resource.
