Missouri Southern's Department of Communication was established in 1980 by forging together two disciplines, speech and journalism. Today the Department of Communication is intertwined with the areas of public relations, speech communication, mass communication-print, mass communication-television, and practical hands-on experiences to produce the well rounded student.
